New York Governor Announces $7 Billion Plan to Overhaul Penn Station

Governor Kathy Hochul announced plans to overhaul New York City's Pennsylvania Station.
The development of office towers in Midtown Manhattan will proceed separately from the renovation of the station.
The proposed $7 billion overhaul will go forward regardless of whether office towers are also developed.
The station is the busiest transit hub in the U.S., serving up to 600,000 daily commuters and travelers before COVID-19.
The MTA will invite architects, engineers and design firms to submit ideas for improving the station.
