New York midwife Jeanette Breen has been fined $300,000 for falsifying the vaccination records of approximately 1,500 children, the majority of whom are from Long Island.
Breen administered homeopathic oral pellets as an alternative to required vaccinations, then entered false immunization records into the New York State Immunization Information System.
The scheme began in 2019, shortly after New York eliminated non-medical exemptions for required school immunizations.
The affected children, who attended 300 different schools, have had their immunization records voided and must now receive all required vaccinations before returning to school.
Breen has paid half of her fine, with the remainder suspended contingent on her compliance with state health laws, including a permanent ban from administering any vaccine that would be reported to the state's immunization system.
