New York Trooper Charged With Manslaughter Over Unarmed Man's Death After High-Speed Chase

New York state trooper Anthony Nigro charged with manslaughter for fatally shooting James Huber after a high-speed car chase in February 2022.
Nigro pleaded not guilty to first- and second-degree manslaughter and was released without bail.
Body camera footage shows Nigro firing two shots at Huber, who was unarmed, after he pulled over in Buffalo.
Huber died of gunshot wounds at the scene, and his death was investigated by Attorney General Letitia James, who brought the charges against Nigro.
Criminal charges against police officers are rare in New York.
