Newborn Found Deceased in Bag Outside Notting Hill Church

Police appeal for mother’s welfare and public assistance after baby boy’s body discovered in distinctive Marks & Spencer’s bag.

The body of a newborn baby boy was discovered on March 25, 2025, in a Marks & Spencer’s shopping bag outside All Saints’ Church in Notting Hill, West London.
A council refuse worker found the bag and contacted emergency services, who declared the baby dead at the scene shortly before 1 PM.
The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation and are urgently seeking the mother, believed to have recently given birth and potentially in need of medical and emotional support.
Authorities have appealed to the public for information, particularly from anyone who may have seen someone carrying a black Marks & Spencer’s bag with avocado prints in the area.
Superintendent Owen Renowden emphasized the priority of locating the mother to ensure her health and safety, urging her to come forward for help at any hospital, police station, or by contacting emergency services.
