NHL to Play Pre-Season Opener in Australia for First Time

The NHL will hold two pre-season games between the LA Kings and Arizona Coyotes in Melbourne, Australia in September.
The games mark the first time the NHL will play in Australia and the fourth continent the league has visited.
The games will take place at Rod Laver Arena, the main court for the Australian Open tennis tournament.
The NHL hopes the historic matchups will help grow the sport of hockey in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Though Australia's only NHL player expressed disappointment his team was not chosen, the games are expected to thrill fans.
