Norfolk Police Chief Calls for 'Deeper Review' Following Tragic Discovery of Four Bodies
The force self-refers to the Independent Office of Police Conduct after failing to respond to a 999 call from the property where the bodies were found.
- Norfolk Police Chief Constable, Paul Sanford, has called for a 'deeper review' into the force's response to emergency calls following the discovery of four bodies in a house in Costessey, near Norwich.
- A 999 call was made from the property at around 6am but police were not dispatched there. The bodies were discovered about an hour and 15 minutes later after a member of the public alerted them.
- The deceased include Bartlomiej Kuczynski, 45, two young girls believed to be his daughters, and a 36-year-old woman. Post-mortem examinations revealed that the adults died of stab wounds to the neck.
- The force has referred itself to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) in relation to the earlier 999 call and previous contact at the address on December 14 which was in relation to a missing person enquiry.
- The police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the tragedy. The identity of the 36-year-old woman and the cause of death of the two girls are yet to be confirmed.
