Catherine Hudson, a nurse at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, has been sentenced to seven years and two months in prison for drugging patients to make her shifts easier.
Hudson was found guilty of giving unprescribed sedatives to two patients and conspiring with another nurse, Charlotte Wilmot, to drug a third patient.
The case came to light after a student nurse on work placement reported Hudson's actions to senior managers, who then alerted the police.
Hudson and Wilmot were found guilty of exploiting their vulnerable patients for their own convenience and amusement.
Hudson was also convicted of stealing medication intended for an end-of-life patient and perverting the course of justice.
