Nvidia Dominates as Discrete GPU Shipments Surge 48% Year-Over-Year

Despite a traditionally slow quarter, Nvidia's market share hits 88% while Intel's share drops to 0%, according to Jon Peddie Research.

Discrete GPU shipments increased to 9.5 million units in Q2 2024, up 9.4% from Q1 and 48% from the same period last year.
Nvidia saw a 9.7% increase in quarterly shipments and a 61.9% rise year-over-year, securing 88% of the market share.
AMD's market share remained at 12%, with shipments rising 9% quarter-over-quarter and 3% year-over-year.
Intel's Arc GPUs failed to gain traction, resulting in a market share of 0% for Q2 2024.
The surge in GPU shipments is attributed to new product releases and slight price drops, with next-gen GPUs expected in late 2024 or early 2025.
