Officers Face Trial Over Death of Elijah McClain After 2019 Police Encounter

Elijah McClain died in 2019 after Aurora, Colorado police officers confronted him and put him in a chokehold.
His death gained national attention in 2020 following protests over police brutality.
Two officers are now on trial for manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and assault charges.
Prosecutors say officers ignored McClain's pleas that he couldn't breathe.
Three other officers and paramedics also face charges and will stand trial later this year.
