Oklahoma Teacher Sentenced to Prison for Sexually Abusing 15-Year-Old Student

Emma Delaney Hancock, wife of a police chief and daughter of a mayor, will serve four years for soliciting sex from a minor through technology.

Emma Delaney Hancock, a 28-year-old former substitute teacher in Wellston, Oklahoma, was convicted of two counts of soliciting sexual conduct with a minor using technology.
Hancock, who is married to the town's police chief and is the daughter of the mayor, began communicating with the 15-year-old student in October 2022 under the pretense of assisting with schoolwork.
Over the course of several weeks, their communication escalated to exchanging explicit photos and videos, with two reported physical encounters in a classroom closet.
Hancock was sentenced to four years in prison and will be required to register as a sex offender, though she continues to deny the allegations and claims the student fabricated the story.
The victim has transitioned to online schooling due to the emotional impact of the abuse, with family members expressing regret over the loss of his traditional high school experience.
