One Dead, Two Injured in Random Stabbing at Nagano Train Station

Police are searching for a middle-aged suspect after a knife attack near a bus terminal left one man dead and two others injured.

The stabbing occurred around 8 p.m. Wednesday near the bus terminal at JR Nagano Station in central Japan.
A 49-year-old man died from abdominal injuries, while a 37-year-old man sustained serious back wounds and a 46-year-old woman suffered a head injury from a fall.
Police believe the attack was random, as none of the victims appeared to know the assailant.
The suspect, described as a slim man in his 40s, fled the scene on foot and remains at large.
Authorities have set up a hotline to gather information on the suspect, and investigations are ongoing.
