OpenAI Sued Over Alleged Massive Data Theft to Train ChatGPT

OpenAI is facing multiple lawsuits alleging the company stole personal data from millions of internet users to train its AI models, specifically ChatGPT.
The lawsuits claim OpenAI secretly collected 300 billion words from the internet, including private social media posts and medical information, without permission.
The plaintiffs argue OpenAI profited from the stolen data and demand compensation as well as new regulations and oversight of AI development.
Microsoft, a major investor in OpenAI, was also named as a defendant in one of the suits.
The lawsuits come amid growing scrutiny of how tech companies are using people's personal information to develop AI systems with limited transparency or consent.
