Over 50 Injured in Hannover Nursing Home Fire, Cause Under Investigation

A fire in a Hannover-Nordstadt nursing home left three residents seriously injured, displaced many others, and caused significant damage to the building's upper floor.

The fire broke out on March 29, 2025, in a room of a nursing home in Hannover-Nordstadt, injuring over 50 residents, including three seriously.
Emergency responders contained the flames to the room of origin, but smoke spread throughout the building, rendering the upper floor uninhabitable.
Most affected residents have been relocated within the facility, which houses approximately 100 people in total.
