Padres star Manny Machado out minimum 10 days after hand fracture

Machado was placed on the 10-day injured list with a small fracture in his left hand
The injury occurred when Machado was hit by a pitch from Royals pitcher Brad Keller
This is Machado's first IL stint since 2014 when he played for the Orioles
The Padres called up Brandon Dixon from Triple-A El Paso to take Machado's place
Dixon is starting at first base and batting seventh in the lineup for Friday's game
