Painkiller Franchise Returns with New Co-Op Shooter Set for Fall 2025

The reimagined FPS introduces cooperative gameplay, modern mechanics, and a darker tone while retaining the series' iconic fast-paced combat and weapons.

The new Painkiller game, developed by Anshar Studios and published by 3D Realms and Saber Interactive, was officially revealed at the Future Games Show: Spring Showcase 2025.
Set for release in Fall 2025, the game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Players can engage in cooperative gameplay supporting up to three players or opt for single-player modes, with four unique characters to choose from.
The game features a darker tone, updated visuals, and a mix of classic and new weapons, including customizable options and collectible Tarot cards for enhanced abilities.
The storyline follows players battling demonic armies in Purgatory to prevent the fallen angel Azazel from invading Earth, blending nostalgic elements with modernized features.
