Pair plead guilty to hate crime over 2020 murder of transgender woman in Puerto Rico

Two men pleaded guilty to federal hate crime charges related to 2020 incident involving transgender woman Alexa Negrón Luciano.
The men harassed Luciano in a restaurant bathroom and later threatened her with a paintball gun before she was found dead from gunshot wounds.
No one has been charged with Luciano's murder, which happened on February 24, 2020 in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico.
The two men face sentencing, but a date has not been set yet for the federal hate crime charges.
Luciano's murder over 3 years ago prompted outrage from LGBTQ advocates seeking justice.
