Paris Knife Attack Suspect Formally Investigated for Murder and Terrorism

Armand Rajabpour-Miyandoab, a 26-year-old French man, has been placed under formal investigation for murder and attempted murder in connection with a terrorist organisation after stabbing a German tourist to death and wounding two others in Paris.
The suspect had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State and was under surveillance for suspected Islamic radicalization at the time of the attack.
The attack took place near the Eiffel Tower, raising security concerns less than a year before the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Rajabpour-Miyandoab was previously convicted and served prison time for a planned attack that never took place.
He was under psychiatric treatment and was on a special list of feared radicals.
