Patriots Sign CB Carlton Davis to $60 Million Deal

The New England Patriots bolster their defense with the addition of Carlton Davis and linebacker Robert Spillane in free agency.

Cornerback Carlton Davis has agreed to a three-year, $60 million contract with the New England Patriots, according to multiple reports.
The deal follows a bidding war with the New York Jets, who were also reportedly pursuing Davis to strengthen their secondary.
Davis, 28, played for the Detroit Lions in 2024 but ended the season on injured reserve with a broken jaw after 13 games.
The Patriots also signed linebacker Robert Spillane to a three-year, $37.5 million deal, reuniting him with head coach Mike Vrabel from their time with the Titans.
New England's defense, which ranked near the bottom of the league in 2024, aims to improve with Davis joining Christian Gonzalez in the secondary.
