Peacock Raises Prices for First Time Since 2020 Launch

Peacock is increasing monthly subscription prices starting August 17 for new and existing customers.
Premium (with ads) rises from $4.99 to $5.99 per month, Premium Plus (ad-free) from $9.99 to $11.99.
NBCUniversal cites need to invest in content and user experience while remaining competitive.
Price hike comes as Peacock has added over 80,000 hours of programming since debut.
Increase is part of industry-wide trend as other major streaming platforms have also raised rates.
