Pedophile Physio Abused Boys at Watford Football Club For Years as Officials Ignored Warnings

An investigation found that former Watford physiotherapist Phil Edwards engaged in criminal conduct by sexually abusing at least 18 boys aged 13 to 15 over multiple years.
Edwards inflicted physical and psychological pain on the boys during their "treatments" and " enjoyed inflicting pain.
Although at least one survivor reported the abuse to then-manager Graham Taylor, nothing was done and the abuse continued.
Watford officials were unaware of the abuse at the time but apologized to survivors in a recent statement, calling Edwards' actions "questionable" and "in some cases amount[ing] to criminal conduct.
The club pledged to promote best practices to prevent abuse and safeguard youth players going forward.
