Pedro Almodóvar Directs Short Western Film Starring Hawke and Pascal as Star-Crossed Lovers

Pedro Almodóvar's newest film "Strange Way of Life" is a 30-minute queer Western short premiering at Cannes.
The film stars Ethan Hawke as a sheriff and Pedro Pascal as a cowboy in a complicated romance that spans 25 years.
The story follows an investigation into a murder in a fictional Old West town called Bitter Creek.
Almodóvar passed on directing the 2005 film "Brokeback Mountain" but "Strange Way of Life" could be seen as his take on a similar story of forbidden love between two men in a Western setting.
"Strange Way of Life" is Almodóvar's second English-language film and his first Western.
