Penn State Students Set New Record with $16.9 Million Raised for Pediatric Cancer

The annual 46-hour dance marathon, known as Thon, becomes the largest student-run philanthropy event in the world.

Hundreds of Penn State students participated in the annual Thon dance marathon, raising a record-breaking $16.9 million for pediatric cancer patients.
The funds will support pediatric cancer patients and their families at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
This year's total surpassed last year's fundraising amount of over $15 million, setting a new record for the event.
More than 16,500 student volunteers contribute to the Thon event each year, dedicating an average of 15 hours each week to Thon events throughout the year.
Over the past half-century, Thon has raised more than $235 million and has supported over 4,800 families.
