Pet Dog Survives Mountain Lion Attack in California

A pet dog named Holly Jolly, a 3-year-old giant black schnauzer, survived a mountain lion attack in her backyard in La Verne, California.
The incident occurred on February 12, 2024, and was captured on the family's home surveillance cameras.
Owners Steve and Nicole were alerted to the attack by Holly's yelps and managed to scare the mountain lion away, allowing Holly to escape.
Holly sustained injuries from the attack, including puncture wounds, scratches, and a gash requiring stitches, but is recovering well.
Following the attack, the family has taken measures to ensure Holly's safety, including accompanying her outside at night.
