• Peter Knäbel, former Bundesliga player and executive, was elected president of the Swiss Football Association (SFV) during a delegates' assembly in Ittigen on May 24, 2025.
• Knäbel's election was uncontested after the withdrawal of his potential opponent, Sandro Stoppa, earlier this month.
• He previously served as SFV Technical Director from 2009 to 2014 and brings extensive administrative experience from his time at Schalke 04 and Hamburger SV.
• Knäbel will formally begin his tenure on August 1, 2025, taking over from outgoing president Dominique Blanc.
