PFL Acquires Bellator in Landmark Deal, Aims to Challenge UFC

Saudi-backed deal to see Bellator brand continue with PFL planning a Champions vs. Champions event in 2024.

PFL has acquired rival MMA company Bellator from Paramount Global, aiming to become a co-leader in the industry alongside UFC.
The deal was facilitated by Saudi Arabia's recent investment into PFL, which ensured mixed-martial arts events will take place in the country.
The Bellator brand will continue in a series of one-off cards in 2024, with PFL launching the 'Bellator International Champions Series' next year.
PFL plans to stage a PFL Champions vs. Bellator Champions card in 2024 that would include champions in all seven weight classes.
Paramount will remain involved as a minority owner, and all Bellator-signed athletes will immediately be available to compete on PFL platforms.
