Police Fatally Shoot Armed Man After Confrontation on Gold Coast

The man, wanted by authorities, allegedly pointed a firearm at officers and fled in a stolen vehicle before being shot during a second confrontation.

Queensland Police encountered the wanted man on Calvary Court in Labrador, where he allegedly brandished a firearm at officers around 8:15am.
The suspect fled the scene in a stolen vehicle, leading to a pursuit that ended on Brisbane Road in Arundel at approximately 9:30am.
A second confrontation occurred in Arundel, during which police fired at the man, fatally wounding him.
Medical assistance was provided by police and paramedics, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ethical Standards Command, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission, is investigating the incident.
