Police Investigate Fatal Shooting of Four Alpacas in Cambridgeshire

Cambridgeshire Police are appealing for information after a 'senseless' attack left four alpacas dead, one injured, and a ewe mauled, with no suspects or motive identified.

The attack occurred between 6pm on March 22 and 8:30am on March 23 in East Hatley, Cambridgeshire, leaving four alpacas dead and one injured from gunshot wounds.
A ewe was also mauled by a dog during the incident and had to be euthanized due to severe injuries.
The injured alpaca, named Phoebe, is receiving veterinary care for a facial wound and potential paralysis, with her condition still uncertain.
Cambridgeshire Police have launched an investigation, conducting house-to-house inquiries and urging anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
The owner, Dawn French, described the killings as 'horrific' and 'senseless,' while the motive for the attack remains unknown, prompting concern from local residents and animal welfare groups.
