Police Officers Attacked by Football Fans After Berlin Match

Four arrests were made after a group of fans assaulted officers escorting them from a Regionalliga game in Lichtenberg.

The incident occurred Friday evening following a Regionalliga match between VSG Altglienicke and SV Babelsberg 03, which ended in a 1:1 draw.
Police were escorting 70-80 Babelsberg fans to the U-Bahnhof Magdalenenstraße when the group damaged a power box, prompting intervention by officers.
Fans responded with physical attacks, including punches and kicks, injuring five officers, though none required time off duty.
Four men aged 18 to 31 were arrested and subjected to blood tests to determine if they were under the influence of substances.
Authorities have launched investigations into charges including breach of the peace, assault on law enforcement officers, attempted bodily harm, and insults.
