Police Recover Headless Body of Murder Victim in Palghar After Four-Hour Search

The body of Utpala Hippargi, killed and dismembered by her husband in January, was found in a drain in Virar following his confession.

Utpala Hippargi, 51, was murdered by her husband, Harish Hippargi, on January 8 after a domestic argument escalated violently.
Harish strangled Utpala, beheaded her with a sickle near Deshmukh Farm, and disposed of her severed head and body in separate locations to evade detection.
Her head was discovered five days ago in a suitcase near Pirkunda Dargah, which helped authorities identify the victim using forensic evidence, including a bullion wallet.
Harish confessed to the crime during police interrogation, leading to a four-hour search operation that recovered the decomposed body from a drain in Virar.
The remains have been sent for forensic examination and autopsy as police conclude the search phase and proceed with legal formalities.
