Overview

  • Porsche converted its LMDh 963 prototype into the 963 RSP with design nods to the 1970s 917 road car.
  • Engineers raised ride height, softened damper settings and added road-legal lighting to adapt the racer for public roads.
  • The hybrid setup pairs a 4.6-liter biturbo V8 with a 1.35 kWh lithium-ion battery and revised engine mapping for smoother street performance.
  • Bernhard completed the debut outing on June 6 near Circuit de la Sarthe under damp conditions in Michelin rain tires.
  • The one-off car belongs to Roger Searle Penske, will appear at the Goodwood Festival in July and is not offered to regular customers.
