Prayagraj Prepares for Historic Maha Kumbh 2025 with Major Upgrades

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlights extensive infrastructure, safety, and hospitality measures for the grand religious event expected to draw millions.

• Over 200 roads in Prayagraj have been upgraded, with lanes expanded and 13 out of 14 planned flyovers completed to improve connectivity for the Maha Kumbh 2025.
• A 12-kilometer temporary ghat and a new permanent ghat near Arail are being prepared, alongside enhanced water pipelines and sanitation facilities across the city.
• Security measures include anti-drone systems, cyber threat awareness campaigns, and 24/7 disaster management to ensure the safety of pilgrims and tourists.
• The state’s largest bio-CNG facility, expected to generate ₹56 lakh annually, is nearing completion and will convert municipal waste into energy and resources.
• With over 1.5 lakh tents arranged and 7,000 organizations participating, the Maha Kumbh is set to host six major bathing festivals starting January 13, drawing millions of devotees worldwide.
