Preparations Underway for 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela, World's Largest Religious Gathering

The 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela will take place from January 13 to February 26 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, with an estimated 400 million attendees over 45 days.
The festival spans 40 square kilometers, with temporary infrastructure including 30 pontoon bridges, 11 hospitals, and 150,000 toilets to accommodate visitors.
Advanced security measures include 50,000 personnel, AI-powered crowd monitoring, and over 2,500 surveillance cameras to manage safety and prevent stampedes.
The event is expected to significantly boost Uttar Pradesh's economy through tourism, hospitality, transportation, and micro-enterprises, with spending projected at Rs 20,000-30,000 crore.
Preparations involve thousands of workers constructing roads, bridges, and accommodations, while the government has also focused on cleanliness, logistics, and local vendor training.
