President Joe Biden will host Modi and hold an elaborate White House state dinner in his honor.
The visit will focus on the partnership between the US and India, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region and technology.
This is not Modi's first visit to the Biden White House; he visited in 2021.
Modi is the third world leader to be invited on a US state visit by Biden, following French President Emmanuel Macron and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.
