President Murmu Awards Bharat Ratna to Five Eminent Personalities

In a historic ceremony, four posthumous and one living recipient were honored with India's highest civilian award.

President Droupadi Murmu conferred Bharat Ratna on five eminent personalities, including LK Advani and two former Prime Ministers.
The awards were presented in a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, with four of the five awards being posthumous.
LK Advani, due to his ailing health, will receive the award at his residence, making him the only living recipient among the awardees.
The Bharat Ratna is India's highest civilian honor, awarded for exceptional service towards any field of human endeavor.
This year marks the highest number of Bharat Ratnas awarded since 1999, with a total of five recipients.
