Prom Dress Sale Turns Violent at Georgia Gas Station, Three Arrested
A dispute over a prom dress led to a physical altercation caught on video, with charges of battery and theft filed against three women.
- An 18-year-old met her former friend, 20-year-old Morgan Flinchum, at a Gwinnett County gas station to sell a prom dress on February 26.
- The dress, which originally belonged to Flinchum but was partially paid for by the seller's mother, was taken by a third woman waiting in the bathroom during the exchange.
- A physical altercation ensued outside the gas station, with the seller reclaiming the dress and flipping one of the attackers to the ground in self-defense after being placed in a chokehold.
- Police reviewed surveillance footage and later arrested Flinchum, Leila DeJager, and Kaylee George, charging them with theft by taking, and in some cases, battery.
- Gwinnett County Police urged residents to conduct person-to-person sales at designated e-commerce parking areas monitored by law enforcement for safety.
