Promising Derby Contender Wild On Ice Withdraws Due to Injury

Wild On Ice is out of the Kentucky Derby due to an injury in his left hind leg.
Skinner, who finished third in the Santa Anita Derby, will replace Wild On Ice in the 20-horse field.
Wild On Ice won the Grade 3 Sunland Park Derby in New Mexico on March 26 and was tied for 15th with 50 points in the Derby standings.
Wild On Ice was evaluated at Churchill Downs' equine hospital before being transported to an equine surgical facility in Lexington, Kentucky, for further evaluation.
The Kentucky Derby post-position draw with odds is on Monday at Churchill Downs.
