Punjab Police Bulldoze Properties of Drug Traffickers in Landmark Crackdown

In a first-of-its-kind operation, Punjab Police demolished illegally built properties tied to drug money as part of the state's intensified war on drugs.

The Punjab Police demolished the properties of two drug traffickers, Sonu and Rahul Hans, in Ludhiana on Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Authorities stated that the properties were constructed using proceeds from drug sales, with Sonu having six cases of drug trafficking and Rahul previously arrested with 41,000 narcotic tablets and Rs 2.15 lakh in drug money.
The operation is part of Punjab's broader 'War on Drugs' campaign, marking a new phase in enforcement against trafficking and organized crime.
Police have identified 78 additional drug peddlers in the Ludhiana district whose illegal properties are set to face similar action in the coming days.
The government has also instructed district officials to prepare rehabilitation and drug de-addiction facilities to support individuals affected by substance abuse.
