Queens Man Indicted on Hate Crime Charges for Antisemitic Attack on Israeli Tourist

Yehia Amin allegedly stalked and assaulted the victim in Times Square, making antisemitic remarks and playing 'Hamas music' on a Bluetooth speaker.

Yehia Amin, a 28-year-old man from Queens, has been indicted on multiple hate crime charges for allegedly stalking and assaulting an Israeli tourist in Times Square.
The incident occurred on October 18, when Amin allegedly followed the victim and his friends, who were all wearing yarmulkes, and played what he described as 'Hamas music' on a Bluetooth speaker.
Amin is accused of making antisemitic and anti-Israel comments, including 'Hamas should kill more of you' and 'All Jews should die', before punching the victim in the back of the head.
The victim and his friends, along with a police officer, chased Amin and he was subsequently arrested. Even while under arrest, Amin allegedly continued to make antisemitic remarks.
The indictment comes amid a troubling rise in antisemitic incidents in the wake of Hamas' sudden attack on Israel and Israel's retaliatory assault on the Gaza Strip.
