Queens Woman Fatally Shot in Home, Relative Wounded

Police are searching for a suspect after a 32-year-old woman was killed and her uncle injured in a College Point residence early Monday morning.

Jennifer Navarrete, 32, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene in her College Point home early Monday morning.
Her 49-year-old uncle sustained gunshot wounds to his arm and back and walked to Flushing Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
Investigators recovered four shell casings at the scene and found a blood trail leading from a Volkswagen parked outside the home, believed to belong to one of the victims.
A witness reported seeing a man, approximately 5’6” and dressed in black, fleeing the scene after an argument was overheard prior to the shooting.
The NYPD has not made any arrests and is reviewing surveillance footage to identify the suspect, who is believed to be known to the victims.
