Rays Pitcher Jeffrey Springs to Undergo Tommy John Surgery

Jeffrey Springs, a left-handed pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays, will have season-ending Tommy John surgery on Monday.
The decision for Springs to have surgery was announced by Rays manager Kevin Cash on Saturday.
Dr. Keith Meister, team physician for the Texas Rangers, will perform the surgery on Springs.
Springs was moved from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL due to the surgery.
Despite a strong start to the season, Springs left his April 13 start after throwing just two pitches in the fourth inning.
