Real Madrid Extends Brazilian Winger Rodrygo's Contract to 2028

Real Madrid has extended the contract of Brazilian winger Rodrygo until the 2027-28 season. Rodrygo's current contract was set to end in 2025.
Rodrygo joined Real Madrid in 2019 from Brazilian club Santos with a reported transfer fee of nearly 45 million euros ($47.8 million).
The 22-year-old player has scored 39 goals in 179 appearances for Real Madrid, winning eight trophies, including the Champions League and two Spanish league titles.
Rodrygo's contract extension is a recent boost for Real Madrid that comes two days after the club announced a contract extension for another Brazilian forward, Vinícius Júnior, until the 2026-27 season.
The new contract includes a billion-euro ($1.06 billion) release clause, as part of Real Madrid's strategy to protect its top talents from the financial power of other European and Saudi Arabian clubs.
