Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired U.S. distribution rights for the Red Sonja reboot, with plans for a theatrical release in 2025.
The film has received an official R rating from the MPA for 'strong/bloody violence,' confirming its completion and readiness for release.
Directed by M.J. Bassett, the film stars Matilda Lutz in the title role, alongside Robert Sheehan and Wallis Day.
This adaptation is based on the Dynamite Entertainment version of Red Sonja, offering a darker and more modern take on the iconic character.
Signature Entertainment will handle distribution in the UK and Ireland, with a planned late 2025 release in those regions.
