Red Sox's Paxton shut down for season with knee injury

Paxton placed on 15-day injured list with right knee inflammation.
Manager Alex Cora decided to end Paxton's season after considering pushing back his start.
Nick Pivetta will replace Paxton in the rotation for the rest of 2022.
Paxton previously had Tommy John surgery in April 2021.
Despite setbacks this season, Paxton went 7-5 with a 4.50 ERA in 19 starts.
