Released Hostage Pleads for Israeli Government Action

Over 100 hostages remain in Gaza following the end of a seven-day cease-fire.

  • Yelena Trupanob, a recently released Israeli hostage, addressed a rally in Tel Aviv, urging the government to do more to free the remaining hostages in Gaza, including her son.
  • Trupanob and her mother, Irena Tati, were among the 105 hostages released during a seven-day cease-fire, but over 100 hostages remain in captivity.
  • The hostages were taken during surprise Hamas-led attacks on October 7, and the cease-fire has since ended.
  • Trupanob's son, Sasha, and her husband, Vitaly, were also taken during the attack. Vitaly was killed, and Sasha remains in captivity.
  • Protests have been ongoing, with thousands rallying outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office in Jerusalem before the cease-fire, demanding more action to free the hostages.
