Remains of Indigenous Woman Marcedes Myran Identified at Prairie Green Landfill

The discovery concludes months of excavation efforts for two victims of serial killer Jeremy Skibicki, with the search for a fourth victim ongoing.

Authorities confirmed the remains of Marcedes Myran, a 26-year-old Indigenous woman, at the Prairie Green Landfill in Manitoba on March 17, 2025.
The remains of Morgan Harris, another victim of Jeremy Skibicki, were identified at the same site earlier this month.
Jeremy Skibicki was convicted in 2024 of murdering four Indigenous women in 2022, including Myran, Harris, Rebecca Contois, and an unidentified woman named Mashkode Bizhiki’ikwe (Buffalo Woman).
The $40 million federally and provincially funded search began in December 2024 after public outcry led to a reversal of an earlier decision not to search the landfill.
Indigenous leaders and advocates continue to call for systemic change and justice, highlighting the disproportionate violence faced by Indigenous women in Canada.
