Rescue Teams Recover Body in Telangana Tunnel Collapse After 16 Days

Efforts continue to locate seven remaining workers trapped in the collapsed Srisailam Left Bank Canal tunnel since February 22.

The body of one of the eight workers trapped in the collapsed SLBC tunnel in Telangana was recovered after 16 days of rescue efforts.
The body was found buried under silt at a depth of 10 feet and was sent to a local hospital for post-mortem examination.
Rescue operations face significant challenges due to unstable conditions in the tunnel, including water seepage, low oxygen levels, and debris from a damaged Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM).
Specialized cadaver dogs from Kerala and robotic technology equipped with cameras and sensors have been deployed to aid in locating the remaining trapped individuals.
Over 525 personnel, including teams from the NDRF, Indian Army, Navy, and SDRF, continue to work tirelessly on the rescue operation, with global experts consulted for technical support.
