Robin Fraser, 58, replaces John Herdman, who resigned in November 2024 after 14 months as head coach of Toronto FC.
Fraser previously served as an assistant coach for Toronto FC from 2015 to 2019, contributing to the team’s 2017 MLS Cup-winning season.
He brings extensive MLS experience, including head coaching stints with Chivas USA and the Colorado Rapids, where he led a first-place finish in the Western Conference in 2021.
Toronto FC struggled in 2024, finishing 11th in the Eastern Conference with an 11-19-4 record, missing the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season.
Fraser has signed a contract through 2027 and faces significant challenges in rebuilding the team, including addressing roster gaps and improving offensive and defensive performances.
