Rockies Star Charlie Blackmon Out 4-6 Weeks With Broken Hand

Charlie Blackmon, Rockies' right fielder, will miss 4-6 weeks with a broken right hand.
Blackmon had been playing with a fracture in his hand since he was hit by a pitch in Kansas City more than a week ago.
Kris Bryant, the Rockies' highest-paid player, also remains out on the injured list with a bruised heel, leaving the team without two of their core outfielders.
Blackmon is playing out the final year of a six-year, $108 million contract he signed in 2018 and is capable of a professional at-bat and a difficult hitter for pitchers to approach.
Blackmon's injury will become bad timing for the Rockies as a six-week absence would leave him only a handful of games before the Aug. 1 trade deadline.
