Rockstar Games Acquires Australian Studio Video Games Deluxe

The rebranded Rockstar Australia joins Rockstar's global network as the company prepares for the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto 6.

Video Games Deluxe, founded by L.A. Noire director Brendan McNamara, has been renamed Rockstar Australia following the acquisition.
The Sydney-based studio has a long history of collaboration with Rockstar, including work on L.A. Noire re-releases and improvements to Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.
Rockstar's acquisition expands its global presence, making Rockstar Australia its 13th studio in a network spanning multiple continents.
The acquisition comes as Rockstar readies the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6, set for a Fall 2025 release on consoles, with a PC release expected later.
Rockstar Australia’s future projects remain undisclosed, though speculation suggests it may support existing franchises or develop new titles.
