Royal Mint Unveils John Lennon Coin to Celebrate His 85th Year

The Royal Mint has released a commemorative coin to mark what would have been John Lennon's 85th birthday.
The coin features a side-profile portrait of Lennon, based on a 1974 photograph by Bob Gruen taken on the roof of Lennon's New York City penthouse.
The design includes Lennon's name and the word 'Imagine,' referencing his iconic solo work and advocacy for peace.
Part of the Royal Mint's 'Music Legends' series, Lennon joins artists like Queen, David Bowie, and Sir Paul McCartney in being honored.
The coins, available in various metals and price points, will go on sale on March 17 through the Royal Mint's website, starting at £18.50.
